How Poets Wait for a Miracle

Štěpán, Kendy, and Karas have remained true to themselves even after twelve years. They are inseparable friends with an inexhaustible sense of humor and a capacity for self-irony, albeit now with a slight hint of skepticism. In some ways, however, they are different. They are growing up, but in their own distinctly poetic style. They are fifty years old and feel that they should bring some order to their lives and fulfill their wishes and desires. And as everyone knows, miracles need a helping hand! Kendy is fed up with the advertising world and is pursuing his dream of making a feature film with bulldog determination. Karas has decided to nurture his dream car, Blue Dream, in the virtual realm only. He is more interested in the attractive teacher Drábková. Štěpán works as a deputy head physician at a hospital, where he wages a relentless battle with the unyielding director, none other than Vendulka the Consoler! Štěpán's greatest concern, however, is his thirteen-year-old son Junior, whom he has been raising alone since the death of Anička-Zrzečka. With, of course, the generous assistance of uncles Karas and Kendy. Štěpán definitely has neither the time nor the age for love and writing little poems. Or does he?
