Taming Crocodiles

Father Luboš, who works as a mountain rescue worker in the Alps, arrives home in Prague much sooner than he originally promised. His eight-year-old daughter Amálka is delighted and refuses to go on the school trip to the countryside, wanting to spend time with her dad instead. Luboš heads to the school to excuse her absence, but things take an unexpected turn and he ends up going to the High Tatras with the entire class as a medical escort. He promises his wife Anna, who is dealing with her upcoming retirement and the loss of her beloved work at the ballet, that it is only for a few days, and suggests she head to the cottage where he will surely join her. But a chain of coincidences and misunderstandings prevents that from happening. Much of this is helped along by Amálka, as well as the eccentric grandfather Pepík and son Vašek with his adventurous nature. Into the mix come the attractive teacher Alice, the one-of-a-kind Koudelka family and their son Vítek, the grandfather's neighbor Bobulová, the village redhead beauty Julča, and the teacher Kája with her passion for mathematics and Eastern meditation.
